Why I Started Little White Foxes

When I was pregnant with my second daughter, I was still working as a freelance seamstress. Between client projects and late nights at my sewing machine, I had an idea: I wanted to make her something special.

It began with an animal-themed comforter – simple, soft, and made just for her. From there, my imagination ran away with me. I couldn’t stop dreaming about clothes she could wear, things that would be practical as well as beautiful. One of the very first pieces I made was a pair of footed baby pants. Any parent will know the struggle of tiny socks slipping off at the worst moments, but footed pants stay put on those little feet. It was the perfect combination of function and comfort – and the beginning of something much bigger.

A lifelong love of sewing

The truth is, I’ve always wanted to make clothes for babies. Sewing has been my craft, my passion, and my profession for years. I’ve had the privilege of working for a master couturier, for Burberry as a hand sewer, and I also taught myself hand embroidery.

Yet despite all of that, I didn’t have the courage to step into the world of handmade baby clothing until my own children inspired me. Sewing for them unlocked a part of my creativity I hadn’t given myself permission to explore before.

Handmade with care

From the very beginning, I knew what mattered most: every item had to be comfortable, sustainable, and made with genuine care. I often finish pieces by hand to give them that extra attention to detail – something machines alone can’t replicate.

I also choose fabrics thoughtfully, supporting other small businesses wherever possible. My aim is to create clothing that is not only beautiful and durable, but also affordable, so more families can experience the difference that handmade makes.

The story behind the name

The name Little White Foxes is more than just a sweet image – it’s part of our family story. My surname, Fehér, means white in Hungarian. My husband’s surname, Fuchs, means fox in German. Together, they form White Foxes.

The “Little” is for our two daughters – sisters who, like little foxes, are always close, hugging, and staying together. Every piece I sew carries a little bit of that love and family connection with it.

Looking ahead

My hope is that parents will feel the difference when they hold one of my handmade pieces – the softness of carefully chosen fabric, the durability of expert sewing, and the love stitched into every seam. Unlike mass-produced clothing, these garments are made with time, thought, and heart.

For me, Little White Foxes isn’t just about baby clothes – it’s about creating keepsakes, celebrating family, and making everyday moments just a little more special.
